I don't have the discipline to do it every month, but this month I kept track of my good things each day.
In the midst of some crazy and sad things, it's a nice reminder to see how blessed I am.
So here goes...
1 Accomplished much at work
2 Hung out with Laura at the children's museum and loved the new edible landscapes
3 Made pickles
4 Hung out with friends at Joy's house for a fun 4th celebration
5 Made good strides with the potty training
6 My little girl danced her way into toddlerhood
7 Good time sitting around the table at my nanny's house when I picked Ainsley up.
8 Big Brother starts. Ahh reality smut.
9 Met with a friend to learn more about search engine optimization. Here's hoping Renewed Health Supply takes off
10 Going away party for our wonderful friends. Blessed to know them
11 Last home group with said friends. Bittersweet. So excited for them but sad for the void they will leave
12 New iPhone delivered. At last!
13 First workout in forever.
14 Still loving the new phone. How was I living before?
15 Baseball with Ryan's coworkers
16 Baseball with my coworkers - a tad much baseball for one weekend but the people were so fun.
17 My BFF's birthday
18 Lively homegroup discussion about the gospel
19 The drama of the Tour De France is almost too much to handle
20 Sweet voicemail from my sweet 2 year old.
21 First accident free day
22 Ahhh Thursday night.
23 Lonnie's birthday party with friends
24 Reunion with friends from days gone by
25 Ainsley loved the pool more than anything I've ever seen before
26 Much accomplished at work
27 Made major progress in Operation Change the Guest Bedroom into Ainsley's Big Girl Room
28 Watched Joy make a trifle that was so pretty and didn't have any meat in it
29 Best Eviction speech ever by a Big Brother houseguest. Miss you Captain Kosher
30 Finished Ainsley's furniture with Anne
31 Canned 40 lbs of tomatoes with Laura. Wow that was a lot of work.
And with that, another month has passed...

May Good Things
Today I need a lift. So I'm doing my Good Things post. It's nice to look back and see that my life once didn't revolve around the potty. It gives me hope that it won't again in the future.
1 Ran a race for the Tatas with Heather and Leah. Memories made
2 Enjoyed a potluck with small group. I just love our group and will miss our friends who are leaving us this summer
3 Ainsley's first day back with MaryBeth since she had Toby. It's good to be back with her.
4 Spent some good time with Ryan's Grandma after she was released from the hospital. These moments are precious
5 Enjoyed listening to Ainsley sing on the car ride home. Man she's cute
6 Enjoyed my new GPS. I loved arriving successfully to my destination with no turn arounds. That's a small miracle
7 Caught up with a really good friend from college. She's kind of famous in the blog world. My new table arrived.
8 Organized my clothes. Got rid of 8 bags of unneccessary things. It feels good to purge
9 Enjoyed my Mama Day with Ainsley and was spoiled by Ryan. Went to my sister in laws college graduation. So proud
10 Thankful for a mother in law who loves my child and will take care of her on random days
11 Strolled through the garden to see everything coming up beautifully. The anticipation is killing me.
12 Got to check out where our new church is going to be. I love when other people have great visions. I'm not a visionary
13 Ryan got home from work early and that makes me smile.
14 Hopped to the park with some church friends for a long over due day at the park
15 Women's ministry breakfast with good friends and team. Excited to see what God does. Dinner with family
16 Spent some time with Ryan's mom and Blu at our house, showing off my wonderful new table
17 Confirmed the bunny lady for Ainsley's birthday party. Live bunnies at her party. How fun is that!!!
18 Roasted Red Pepper Pizza for dinner. Sticks And Stones restaurant doesn't have anything on me!
19 Thankful that Ryan is such a wonderful dad and that he loves her enough to let her puke on him!
20 All packed and ready to go to Boston.
21 Woke up to puke (not really good) but the coffee and book on the plane were a nice surprise since I was prepared for a 22 month lap child
22 Spent the day with my neices and nephews. Got a glimpse of what life as a soccer mom is. I'm kind of looking forward to it
23 Witnessed Anthony's first communion. That kid is amazing and cute to boot!
24 Went to Target for potty seats, cute elmo panties, and Clorox wipes. After a random poop in the potty on Sunday we have decided Friday is Potty Day
25 Biggest Loser Finale. Michael wins. I'm happy
26 Caught up on laundry in preparation for Potty Day. Little girl panties are cute
27 Celebrated my friend moving away. So enjoy her friendship and will miss her like crazy
28 Potty Day. Lots of messes but success as well
29 Potty Day 2. She's getting it
30 Potty Day 3. She's really getting it. Party at the pool with small group
31 Extra day off from work. Thanks to our great service men and women

What Happened to April
I read a couple of blogs that do lists of the good things that happened each day of the month. I find them entirely interesting and wondered if I could come up with a good thing every day during the month. It seems so often we dwell on the negatives so I wanted to try and focus on the positives.
I'm really glad I took the time to write all this down. It is a great reminder of all the wonderful things that happened this month; some big, some small. I'm especially greatful as I sit here on a Sunday afternoon while Ryan is visiting his grandmother who was rushed to the hospital this morning with congestive heart failure. It's a nice distraction.
1 - Mom and Dad arrive for a weekend visit.
2 - Dinner at Ryan's Dad's house with his family and my parents. Good food, good wine, good times
3 - Trip to the NC zoo. Loved the giraffes the most
4 - He is Risen! Hosted Brunch with both of our families. A new tradition
5 - AC broken at work…burned extra calories while I worked
6 - Melissa kicked off the Biggest Loser AGAIN. Yea!
7 - First Pee Pee in the potty for Ainsley.
8 - Afternoon coffee as the temperature dropped
9 - Had wonderful friends over for a wonderful evening filled with much happiness
10 - Bought some new flowers for my front porch after having skipped it last year
11 - Great run through the woods by myself with just my headphones on
12 - Shopped for a kitchen table. Ideas begin to flow of what I want. Made a new soup recipe for dinner. Yum
13 - Led a training session at work. Nobody complained about change.
14 - Good run on a cooler day.
15 - Went to the Tea Party downtown with Ryan and Ainsley. I love instilling values in our youth
16 - Had a play date with Logan. Only one minor incident with no major injuries
17 - Picked out a great table for our kitchen at Furniture Market
18 - Went to see my friends' new house and let my creative decorating juices flow for them
19 - Enjoyed a nice glass of wine after a busy day
20 - Enjoyed another episode of Biggest Loser. That show makes me smile, especially since Michael looks more and more like Luigi every week.
21 - Great run while my neighbor watched Ainsley. Planted the remainder of the garden
22 - Survived my first puke incident as a mother. For anyone who knows me that's a major accomplishment
23 - Drove to DC to spend the weekend with my oldest friend Kate and her husband
24 - Saw many of the sights of DC including the White House and many of the monuments on the Mall
25 - Sara Groves concert at church. Awesome! Ran into old friends from college who we haven't seen in a really long time
26 - 7 Orders to run for Renewed Health Supply. Thankful to have a home based business that's still growing after 12 years.
27 - Received the best compliment from my husband. How my soul is filled
28 - Rid my house of the last remaining college furniture, my kitchen table. The new one should be here within a week.
29 - Met the last of Anne's 4 children . Anne's family has become my family. I love having someone take care of my child that is family.
30 - Dug up the dirt and grass around my mailbox and planted some beautiful flowers. Such a welcome as I drive up to my house (probably not the best 5K prep but that's another post altogether)
I encourage you to take the 2 minutes everyday to write down the positives. It's a great exercise and a really fun way to remember the month after it has flown by. Expect more of these in the future.
