Ready, Set, Go...

Ainsley was making good signs of readiness for potty training.  We went with it.  We have bought into a method called the 3 day potty training method.  I read it on another blog and had great hopes.  The idea is that you take the diapers off to never come back...even at night.  You ask them to tell you when they have to go potty making it child led.  So here's how it went.

In the words of Miss Ainsley herself..."Ready Set Go"...or most of the time from her  "Set, Go"

35 pair of panties ready to go.

Potty Day Party

Bye Bye Diapers

Drink a ton

Play and wait for accidents, don't forget to admire the cute panties.

End of the first day...The house looks like a bomb hit it

Day 2.  We are still happy

Day 3.  We have it.  Even with a trip to the pool.

Even at night.

Day 4.  The Potty Stick shows up to help with the poops.  It works once.

Day 5.  We are back to day 1.  What?????  No pictures because I'm tired.

But we are not giving up.  She is going to the nanny's house tomorrow.  I think she's sick of me and the potty training.  She's testing us.  But there is no turning back.  We are doing this!  And I can say this because right before she went to bed she told me she had to go potty and went.  Success!

To be continued....

  1. Hang in there. do share about the potty stick... I can only imagine. :)

You have done the hard work. Are the accidents full blown, or dribbles? brush the dribbles off and just say "that's okay, you did a great job holding the rest" even though it might frustrate you a ton. They will get the hold technique soon enough.

I really recommend modeling before her "oh...mommy need to potty...I think I feel the pee pee coming, I am going to hold it in and run to the potty as fast as I can" I know it sounds ridiculous, but they need to know what they should be thinking...and saying out loud to them, I think, is key.

  2. stick with it...you now know she CAN do it:). yall can outlast her, she just needs to know that. i'll be praying God grants you patience during this time. if you have to, use a timer to remind YOU to take her. i did all my kids in a short amount of time (day and night) and it worked 3 times on 3 diff personalities.
